As we come to the end of Centenary year the final event was held at the O2 arena in Greenwich, bands, circus performers, teams of Scouts, over 3000 Scouts not only showed how international, national and local Scouting have embraced this centenary year but also just how relevant and important Scouting is for the next 100 years. Those involved in this year's celebrations will no doubt be talking about and reliving the moments for many years to come. You may have heard rumours about a merger with South East Notts the present situation is that the idea, put forward the County Commissioner, is being considered by the Executive however you can be reassured that before the final decision will be made, full consultations with all parties will take place and a working party will set up to consider the full implications. I would like to wish all those involved in Scouting in the District a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Chris Hammond |
