Excellent! Congratulations to the four young contributions to the last edition of 'News and Views'. Why do we oldies feel we have to stick our oar in? Let's have many more contributions from the young people. 'News and Views' will then become a more dynamic and interesting magazine for all our members.

The 'Old Wolves' occasionally do some good. Those of us who look after Stonepit were recognised by Rushcliffe Borough Council, in November, when we were presented with a Community Award for our conservation work at the site. If you can stand the sight of my face have a look at the pictures on the website - http://www.flickr.com/photos/rushcliffe.

Speaking of the Camp Site we will be holding some workign parties there during the winter, to lay hedges, plant trees and hawthorn and to do other conservation work. Dates will be announced soon.

The site has been fairly well used this year, but I would like to see the District Groups use it more, there's no charge. Get some return on your membership subscription! Why not arrange at least two meetings there for your Section or Group, an evening, a day or a weekend camp (where else can you cook on natural wood fires?), and hold your AGM there. Judging by the 4th West Bridgford the turn out can be the best ever - I'll come if there's a BBQ. The District team can help with training on site - Knife, Axe and Saw - Pioneering - Plant recognition or give us a try and we'll help if we can.

Once again let's have more contributions from the young people. To turn the Old Wolf Cub Law about. The Old Wolf gives way to the Young Wolf, the Old Wolf does not give into himself.

Have a merry Christmas (walk the pudding off at Stonepit) and have a Happy and productive new Scouting Century.
